PROCESSED PAPAYA FRUIT ( Carica papaya l ) TO OVERCOME BREASTFEEDING PROBLEMS IS NOT EFFECTIVE IN POST PARTUM MOTHERS

Background: Breastfeeding is a method of providing nutrition to babies through the mother's breast. Ineffective breastfeeding is a condition where the baby experiences dissatisfaction with breastfeeding due to one of the factors from the mother, namely the inadequate supply of breast milk to support the baby's nutritional status. Signs and symptoms such as breast milk not dripping / gushing so that the baby's BAK is less than 8x/24 hours and the baby is often fussy. Consumption of processed papaya fruit is a non-pharmacological treatment for ineffective breastfeeding with inadequate etiology of breast milk supply. Objective: Provide and apply the extent to which processed papaya fruit can overcome ineffective breastfeeding problems in post partum mothers. Method:Data collection techniques using two respondents, to determine the supply of breast milk. Provision of processed papaya fruit is done 1x per day for 7 days. Every day the respondents were studied about the process of breastfeeding using an ineffective breastfeeding observation sheet. Results: Both respondents experienced an improvement in their breastfeeding status after being given young papaya soup for 7 days, which initially increased their milk supply. Conclusion: Provision of processed young papaya fruit (Carica papaya l.) is effective for overcoming ineffective breastfeeding caused by an inadequate supply of breast milk in post partum mothers.References
