Abstract

Introduction: Emesis gravidarum is the most common and early symptom experienced by pregnant women in early pregnancy, around 12-14 months. Pregnancy causes an increase in the hormones estrogen, progesterone, and human chorionic gonadpthropine. Symptoms of emesis gravidarum are nausea, sometimes accompanied by vomiting that occurs at any time in a frequency of less than 5 times a day. Pregnant women with excessive symptoms of emesis gravidarum will potentially experience dehydration, lack of fat reserves in the body and lack of carbohydrates. The impact of excessive emesis gravidarum on the fetus is that the fetus will tend to experience abnormalities and disorders in growth and development. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of ginger boiled water consumption on 1st trimester pregnant women respondents with nausea nursing problems. Methods: Data were obtained through participatory methods, actions, and interviews. The subjects in this study were 2 respondents of 1st trimester pregnant women with nausea. Results: The results obtained showed that there was a decrease in the level of nausea in both respondents, namely increased appetite, decreased digestive system disorders, and improved physical condition after being given ginger boiled water. Conclusion: There is an effect of giving ginger boiled water on reducing the frequency of nausea and vomiting in first trimester pregnant women with emesis gravidarum.
