Background: The third trimester of pregnancy is a time of physiological and psychological preparation for birth from self-care. This late trimester discomfort is related to the enlargement of the fetus and uterus which can affect cortisol and melatonin hormone levels then have an impact on stress levels, causing anxiety problems in pregnant women. There are around 107,000 (28.7%) of 373,000 third trimester pregnant women in Indonesia experiencing anxiety in facing the labor process (Riskesdas, 2018). Progressive Muscle Relaxation Therapy (ROP) can be done as a non-pharmacological management to overcome anxiety. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of progressive muscle relaxation therapy in III trimester pregnant women who experience anxiety. The data method in this case study was obtained through nursing studies (structured interviews, questionnaires, observations and physical examinations). The subjects of the study were 2 III trimester pregnant women who experienced anxiety problems. The result of this study was that after being given ROP, the anxiety level of the two respondents decreased, in respondent 1 from a score of 23 (moderate anxiety) to a score of 16 (mild anxiety), while respondent 2 from a score of 17 (mild anxiety) became a score of 10 (no anxiety). Conclusion: ROP has been shown to be effective in reducing anxiety levels in III trimester pregnant women.References
