EFFECTIVENESS OF ALOEVERA GEL IN OVERCOME SKIN INTEGRITY DISORDER IN SUFFERERS OF SCABIES AT ISLAMIC BOARDING SCHOOL SALAFIYAH TAWANGSARI

Background Scabies or also known as Sarcoptic mange is an infectious skin disease caused by the mite Sarcoptes scabiei due to the factors of population density, humidity, and improved personal hygiene.. Scabies can be transmitted through direct skin- to- skin contact or indirectly, such as objects contaminated with mites. Scabies causes skin lesions, itching, and secondary infections. As a result, the problem of nursing skin integrity disorders arises. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of administering aloevera gel for healing impaired skin integrity in scabies. Methods : Data obtained from observation through participatory methods, actions and interviews. The research subjects for this case study used 2 respondents who suffered from scabies with impaired skin integrity. Results : The results of the analysis showed that there was improvement in the respondent's skin integrity before and after the intervention, namely in respondent 1 tissue damage and/ or skin layers were quite improved, pain was moderately improved, redness moderately improved, and the bleeding improved. Whereas in respondent 2 the damage to the tissue and/ or skin layers was quite improved, the pain improved, the redness improved, and the bleeding improved. There were differences in the results for the two respondents because respondent 1 found more lesions than respondent II. Conclusion : Administration of aloevera gel is effective for improving the integrity of skin and tissues in scabies sufferers, which was initially quite increased and moderate to moderately decreased and decreasedReferences
