ADDRESSING ACUTE PAIN MANAGEMENT ISSUES IN HYPERTENSIVE PATIENTS THROUGH MOZART MUSIC THERAPY

Background: Hypertension refers to abnormally high blood pressure in the blood vessels, which are responsible for carrying blood from the heart to various tissues and organs of the body. When hypertension is not controlled or given special attention, it can lead to various complications such as myocardial infarction, coronary heart disease, congestive heart failure if it affects the heart; stroke if it affects the brain; and chronic kidney failure if it affects the kidneys. Music therapy is one approach to pain management that uses music to help modify behavior, emotions, or physiological responses in the body. Objective: The purpose of this research is to determine the effectiveness of Mozart music therapy on patients with hypertension. Method: The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. In this case study, the researcher selected two patients as participants. Data were collected from qualitative participant data. Data analysis was conducted during and after the data collection process. Results: After implementing Mozart music therapy, both respondents experienced a reduction in pain scale from moderate (scale 3) to mild (scale 5). Conclusion: The research results indicate that Mozart music therapy can alleviate acute pain in hypertensive patients.References
