Abstract

Chronic wounds are one of the patient's health issues and might last for months or years due to the delayed healing process. The most frequent chronic wounds are diabetic ulcers, which are foot sores caused by diabetes mellitus. It is caused by peripheral neuropathy and peripheral vascular disorders that affect a person's quality of life. The study aims at examining the life quality of patients who get wound treatment at a wound clinic. This is a descriptive study with a total sampling technique involving 37 respondents. The research was conducted from 18 July to 13 August 2022. The World Health Organization Quality of Life (WHOQoL) questionnaire was utilized in the study. Data were analysed using univariate analysis with SPSS 23.   The findings revealed that the quality of life of chronic wound patients who undertook wound care was in the "good" category, with a value range of 61–80 or a mean value of 2.74. The physical domain has a mean value of 2.98, the psychological domain is 2.59, and the social interaction domain and the environmental domain are 2.95 and 2.59, respectively.  Based on this data, it is possible to infer that the majority of respondents had a greater quality of life in terms of physical and social aspects than psychology and environment. Therefore, it is critical for health workers to carry out health promotion to improve the quality of life of chronic wound patients from good to excellent.
