Tomato Juice to Relieve Acute Pain in Hypertension Patients

Hypertension is a condition in the circulatory system that causes an increase in blood pressure beyond normal, which is more than 140/90 mmHg. Hypertension can cause pain in the sufferer. The pain can be reduced by non-pharmacological treatment using tomato juice. The purpose of this study was to describe the effectiveness of tomato juice in reducing the level of pain in patients with hypertension. The research design used is a qualitative case study. The samples used were 2 elderly people aged 50-60 years with blood pressure> 140/90 mmHg. Each sample was given 150 grams of tomato juice in 100 ml of boiled water for 7 days. The pain level was checked once a day after giving tomato juice. The results showed a decrease in pain levels in hypertensive patients from scale 3 (moderate) to scale 5 (decreased). It is concluded from this study that the administration of tomato juice can reduce the intensity of pain in patients with hypertension. Keywords: Hypertension, Tomato juice, Acute painReferences
