Abstract

Hypertension is a serious global health problem, with a high prevalence around the world, including in Indonesia reached 34,1%. Vasoconstriction or narrowing of blood vessels that occurs in hypertension can cause acute pain nursing problems.Objective: Overcoming the nursing problem of acute pain in hypertension by administering carrot juice. The impact of acute pain on hypertension has an impact on physical, behavioral, and daily activities. Metode: The research method used a case study, involving two respondents with inclusion criteria who were female with an age of >45 years showing signs of hypertension and acute pain. Result: of the study of the two respondents after being given carrot juice for 5 days, experienced a significant decrease in pain levels and blood pressure in both respondents. Respondent 1 experienced a decrease in blood pressure from 155/93 mmHg to 125/85 mmHg, while respondent 2 from 153/91 mmHg to 127/80 mmHg. The level of pain decreased with the results from a scale of 5 to 0 in respondent 1 and from a scale of 5 to 1 in respondent 2. Conslusion: The administration of carrot juice is effective in overcoming acute pain levels and lowering blood pressure in hypertensive patients.
