EFFECTIVENESS OF DIABETIC FOOT EXERCISES TO OVERCOME RISK OF SKIN/ TISSUE INTEGRITY IN DIABETES MELLITUS

Introduction: Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disorder characterized by high blood sugar levels (hyperglycemia) due to disruptions in insulin secretion. The lack of ability to perceive protective sensations makes individuals with diabetes mellitus more susceptible to diabetic foot ulcers or the risk of skin and tissue damage. One strategy to reduce the risk of diabetic ulcer complications is through the implementation of diabetic foot exercises. Objective: This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of diabetic foot exercises in reducing the risk of skin and tissue integrity disorders in individuals with diabetes mellitus based on empirical studies conducted in the last five years. Method: This research employs a case study research design. Results: Diabetes mellitus is a condition that can lead to various secondary issues, including sensory neuropathy complications. One approach to addressing this problem is through physical exercises, such as diabetic foot exercises, which aim to enhance foot sensitivity in individuals with diabetes mellitus. Conclusion: Diabetic foot exercises have a positive impact on increasing foot sensitivity in patients with diabetes mellitus. By engaging in diabetic foot exercises, the foot sensitivity of individuals with diabetes mellitus can be enhanced.References
